Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Big Beard Apps ("we," "us," or "our") built Feastmark as a personal recipe library app. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our app.

Information We Do Not Collect

Feastmark does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.

How the App Works

When you share a link to a recipe video or post, Feastmark sends that URL to our extraction server (api.feastmark.app) to retrieve recipe details such as the title, ingredients, and instructions. The following applies to this process:

  • Only the URL you share is sent to our server.
  • We do not log or store your IP address beyond what is necessary for the server to respond.
  • Extracted recipe data is returned to your device and stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework.
  • To avoid re-processing popular links, our server keeps an anonymous cache that maps a shared URL to its extracted recipe for up to 30 days. This cache contains no information about you or your device and is not linked to any user or account.

Data Stored on Your Device

All recipe data — including titles, ingredients, instructions, images, and collections — is stored locally on your device. This data does not leave your device except as described above (the source URL sent during extraction) and, if you turn it on, the optional iCloud path below. It is never sold or shared with third parties.

Optional iCloud

Sync is off until you turn it on: Settings → Sync Library with iCloud. After you confirm, quit, and reopen, recipes and photos you saved in Feastmark use your Apple ID’s private iCloud. Feastmark never sees them. We do not operate an account system. An in-progress cook stays on the device you started it on. If you leave sync off, nothing is sent to iCloud.

Third-Party Services

Our extraction server uses OpenAI's API to parse recipe content from raw text. The URL and page content of the shared link may be processed by OpenAI to extract recipe details. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing. We do not send any personal information to OpenAI.

We also query platform APIs (such as the YouTube Data API) to retrieve metadata for shared videos. These requests include only the video identifier, not any personal information.

When a recipe cannot be found in a post's caption or description, our server may request the video's spoken transcript from Supadata (supadata.ai), a transcript service. Only the public URL you shared is sent to Supadata — never any personal information. Supadata's privacy policy applies to that processing.

Photos

If you attach a photo to a recipe, Feastmark uses Apple's system photo picker, which lets you choose an image without granting the app access to your photo library. Chosen photos are stored on your device. They are uploaded nowhere except, if you have turned iCloud sync on, into your private iCloud.

Analytics

Feastmark does not use any third-party analytics services. We do not track how you use the app.

Children's Privacy

Feastmark is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This Website

This website (feastmark.app) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a profile of you. The Feastmark app itself does not track you.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
