Troubleshooting Feastmark
Updated
A link won’t import
- Try Safari. Sharing from Safari often works better than pasting a link for sites that block automated fetches.
- Save it as a draft. Choose Save as draft instead, then open the recipe and tap Complete this recipe. Every field is editable.
- Open the individual recipe. Pages that are whole recipe collections will not import. Open one recipe and share that.
The video has no written recipe
Feastmark reads the post first and, if the caption has no recipe, listens to the video. If the video never lists steps, Feastmark writes simple ones from the ingredients and labels them as suggested. Edit the steps and the label goes away.
A TikTok photo is blank
TikTok’s photo links stop working a couple of days after you save a recipe. Since version 1.2.3 Feastmark keeps its own copy of the photo when you save, so it stays, even offline. Recipes saved before the update get the same fix when you open the app, as long as their photo link still works. If a photo is already gone, add your own from the recipe’s Edit screen.
Importing doesn’t work without internet
Importing a new recipe needs a connection, because the link has to be fetched and read. Your saved recipes, Cook Mode, and your cook log work offline.
My library came up empty
Version 1.2 had a bug that kept recipes from reaching iCloud, and for some people the update opened to an empty library. It was fixed in 1.2.1.
- Update Feastmark to the latest version.
- Make sure you’re signed into iCloud.
- If you have another iPhone or iPad that still shows your recipes, open Feastmark there with the same iCloud account. They sync over.
- Please don’t delete the app to try to fix it. That only removes whatever is still on the device.
If that phone was the only place your recipes lived, Feastmark can’t bring them back. It keeps your data on your devices and in your own iCloud, never on its servers, so there is no copy to restore.
Recipes aren’t syncing between devices
Common questions
A link didn't come through. What now?
Try Share to Feastmark from Safari first. If it still fails, save it as a draft and finish it by hand, because every field is editable. Pages that are whole recipe collections will not import, so open the individual recipe instead.
